Meet Nizamu Abamecha

Nizamu Abamecha is a fourth-generation coffee farmer carrying forward a deep family tradition. Before launching his own export business in 2019, he served as the head of the renowned Duromina Cooperative, where he played a key role in advancing quality and community development.

His efforts have been key in strengthening relationships between producers and buyers, improving operational flow, and elevating how these exceptional coffees are represented to the world. Working alongside the Nizamu family is a privilege, and we remain committed to supporting their mission: bringing traceable, high-quality coffee to market while uplifting the communities behind every harvest.

Today, Nizamu produces and exports exceptional Natural Jimma Grade 1 coffee from his 22-hectare farm in Agaro, Kedamesa Kebele—offering a rich expression of the region’s unique terroir and heritage.

Why Ibex

1. Our Sourcing Approach

We work directly with farmers and cooperatives to source high-quality, traceable coffees. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships based on transparency, fair pricing, and mutual growth.

2. Roast & Freshness

All our coffees are roasted in small batches to highlight the unique characteristics of each origin. We roast to order, ensuring you get the freshest coffee possible.

3. Brewing Suggestions

Whether you're brewing with a pour-over, French press, or espresso machine, we recommend starting with a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio. Adjust grind and brew time to taste—great coffee is personal!

4. Sustainability Commitment

We’re committed to ethical sourcing and environmentally responsible practices—from compostable packaging to supporting eco-friendly farming methods.

5. Shipping & Returns

Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days. We don’t accept returns on coffee, but if something isn’t right, let us know—we’ll make it right.
