Jimma, located in southwestern Ethiopia, is one of the country’s most historic and biodiverse coffee regions. Known as the birthplace of wild Arabica, the region’s high elevation, rich soil, and native heirloom varieties produce coffees with a unique flavor profile—often full-bodied with notes of dark berries, spice, and wine-like acidity.
Jimma coffees are typically grown by smallholder farmers under forest canopy, using traditional, eco-friendly methods passed down through generations. Whether naturally processed or washed, Jimma coffees offer a deep, complex cup that reflects the roots and richness of Ethiopian coffee culture

Jimma isn’t just a coffee region—it’s a place of deep cultural heritage, lush landscapes, and ancient traditions. Located in southwestern Ethiopia, Jimma was once the seat of the powerful Kingdom of Jimma, one of the five Gibe kingdoms. The region is home to dense forests, diverse ecosystems, and some of the oldest coffee varieties in the world—many of which still grow wild. Beyond coffee, Jimma is known for its hospitality, vibrant markets, and the Oromo people's rich storytelling, music, and community spirit. It’s a region where history, agriculture, and identity are deeply intertwined—making every bean from Jimma more than just coffee, but a taste of tradition.
